... a congenital uterine malformation that increases the risk of premature labour. Although I wanted to give birth in my home country, the risks of taking a long flight in an advanced stage of pregnancy made my husband and I consider the possibility to give birth in Greece. The two concerns I had were finding a good obstetrician able to speak English, and a good hospital where both my baby girl and I could receive the best possible attention. An American friend of ours who also gave birth in Greece recommended Dr. Marinakis. When I went to my first appointment I knew my first concern was solved. The professionalism, kindness and experience of Dr. Marinakis were the main reasons we decided to stay. Considering the risks of my pregnancy he suggested choosing Mitera Hospital for the delivery; an advice I will never regret having taken! Dr. Marinakis followed my pregnancy carefully until week 36 when my daughter Maia was born. As Maia spent most of the pregnancy in transversal position I gave birth by C-section. One of the reasons I will never forget the day of Maia’s delivery is for the support I received from Dr. Marinakis and his team. Stefania stayed with me all the time since the moment I arrived in the Hospital. Her support was crucial to handle the excitement and anxiety of such an important day of my life! Three days after being discharged from hospital Maia entered Mitera’s Intensive Care Unit for feeding issues related to her premature birth. Dr. Marinakis’ advice to choose that hospital made those days less stressful because we knew Maia was in the best hands. Besides, Dr. Marinakis and Stefania checked up on her and kept in touch with the hospital and me for updates. My recovery was exceptional! It was not as painful as I thought it was going to be. I was also afraid of how aesthetic the scar was going to look like. Yes, we often care about it even if we do not dare to ask! And yes, Dr. Marinakis did a great job! My scar looks more aesthetic than I could ever imagine! I feel very lucky for having had the opportunity to count on such a professional team in one of the most important days of my life, but most importantly, I feel grateful to them for making me feel it was as important to them as it was for me.

This is my second baby, and along the way I have had several doctors. No one was as confident, positive and supportive as you were. I had two wishes for this birth and you made them both come true.
